ABOUT
BELL MIDDLE SCHOOL
Our school sits high on a hill in the Paradise Hills community. Often cooled by ocean breezes and offering students and staff a commanding view of San Diego.
We have a richly diverse student population. Our diversity is inclusive of different ethnicities, religions, cultural backgrounds, social beliefs, gender and years of experience. Additionally, we border multiple San Diego communities so we see families from Bonita, National City, Lemon Grove and Spring Valley choosing Bell as their school of choice.
We offer a wide-range of academic classes and supports for all types of learners. We have supports for multi-language learners, students with IEPs, and GATE students. We provide opportunities to catch up, make-up and review work in all content areas. Students can participate in tutoring after school and during lunch. We also offer a few Saturday Schools throughout the year, after school primetime and various clubs. Electives include instrumental music, drama, art, language electives in Spanish and Filipino and support electives for English and Math. Every student at Bell must take physical education each school year. We believe in educating the whole child, and that includes physical and social emotional well-being.
We have an award-winning music programs in band and orchestra. We are expanding our music program to include Mariachi.
We do what we can to engage families. We offer Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) parenting classes at no cost. We have monthly opportunities for parent voices to be recognized, and to be involved in the decision-making process. We encourage parents/guardians to serve on school committees and volunteer on campus when they can. Having parents on our team ensures a stronger academic success for students and it makes our school a more dynamic place to be.
We invite you to see Bell Middle School in action!
We value community. We believe it takes a village. We have multiple community members and organizations who volunteer to coach sports, mentor and tutor students. Parents and community members help maintain a family pantry onsite.
Bell Middle School is on P.A.R.R.(Problem Solvers; Advocates for Others; Relationship Builders; Reflective Learners)
