Bell Middle Associate Principal Ken Lewis

Mr. Ken Lewis has worked in secondary education for the last 16 years in both San Diego Unified during the school year, and Juvenile Hall during the summers. Mr. Lewis is one who has a passion for equity and believes all students can be successful.  Ken’s passion is working in inner city schools and working with students and families who may have challenges in their lives.  Ken has a strong belief that building confidence in our inner city youth, will help them break the barriers that may exist in their home life, to produce focus and greatness at school in their academics and beyond.

Lewis

Mr. Lewis received his Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology, from University of Arizona in 1996, and a Teaching Credential and Master's Degree in Education from National University in 2006.  Mr. Lewis received his Administration Credential from San Diego State University in 2011.

From 2006-2013, Mr. Lewis worked as a teacher in City Heights, at Mann Middle School, in San Diego Unified.  While at Mann Middle, Ken saw a need and built the Arabic Curriculum and began teaching the Arabic elective as an A-G class.  Mr. Lewis taught ELA, History, and Arabic during his tenure at Mann Middle School. 

In 2013, Mr. Lewis began working as the Associate Principal at Bell Middle School.

Mr. Lewis has a vision of passionately wanting “all students excited to come to school every day, parents wanting and choosing to send their students to Bell Middle, all staff members eager to come to work daily at Bell, and finally that community members are proud to call Bell their community school!”

During his free time, Mr. Lewis enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, listening to music, exercising, watching movies, and enjoying all different types of foods.
