Ken Lewis was raised in Tucson, Arizona, though has been a San Diegan since 1998. He is a graduate of University of Arizona acquiring a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Sociology, attended National University obtaining a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Masters in Education and earned his Arabic Teaching Credential and Educational Administrative Credential from San Diego State University.
Before being Vice Principal at Bell, Ken taught Middle School from 2006-2014 at Mann Middle in City Heights, and entered into education to help drive inner-city students to achieve their best. Ken was raised by a single mom who was a teacher and was always driven and inspired by her.
In addition to Ken's current role as Vice Principal of Bell Middle, he is a husband and proud father of two boys, 13 and 11. Ken spent two years In Cairo, Egypt, teaching English and studying Arabic. From 2010-2014, Ken helped to develop the Arabic Curriculum for SDUSD. He has a passion for Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and Muy Thai Kickboxing. Ken is his sons' boxing trainer and has a strong belief that building confidence in our inner city youth, will help them break the barriers that may exist in their home life, to produce focus and greatness at school in their academics.
In his spare time Ken enjoys spending time with his family, relaxing, sleeping, listening to music, watching movies, eating sushi and going to the gym.
